International and Domestic Travel Information for Medical Tourists

Both International and Domestic travelers either arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Don Muang Airport (DMK), both located just outside of central Bangkok.  These airports serve international air traffic from Europe, North America, Australia, and almost all countries in Asia daily. Some flights from Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong also arrive at Phuket and Hat Yai International Airports in the South, and Chiang Mai International Airport in the North.

Domestic carriers, such as Thai Airways, and international carriers, including AirAsia, fly numerous domestic and international routes into and out of various Thai destinations, includig Phuket (HKT), Chiang Mai (CNX), Hat Yai (HDY), and Koh Samui (USM).

Getting around Thailand is easy.  There are usually 15 or more flights traveling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai each day and the flight is just over one hour.  It is highly recommended to fly or to be transported by a ground transportation company instead of trying to drive yourself.

Thailands central location in Southeastern Asia makes it the ideal hub for exploring the rest of Asia too.  This is why the new Suvarnabhumi airport is nickamed "the Hub of South East Asia".  BKK is also known as the "Airport of Smiles" to international travelers.

Multiple regional flights go to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and even Udon Thani and Hat Yai each day. Domestic flights are also easy and convenient, cutting down on journey times and often costing less than travel by car or rail.

Charter flights to Thailand from Europe or Asia may arrange to land in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, or Hua Hin too. A number of low cost airlines now serve Thailand for both domestic and international routes so flying in and out of Thailand is more convenient and inexpensive than ever before.
